Languishing is the opposite trajectory of flourishing. It is what happens when Will repeatedly orients toward evasion — when a human being consistently turns away from the Call, avoids the discomfort of the Paradox, and allows manifestation to conceal rather than reveal orientation.
Languishing is not dramatic collapse. More often, it is quiet diminishment. Capacities narrow. Depth flattens. Resonance fades. Life becomes increasingly managed, controlled, and safe — but also increasingly hollow.
Languishing can look successful from the outside. A person can build an impressive career, accumulate wealth and status, and still be languishing — because their orientation is evasive. They are performing engagement without genuinely encountering the Call.
The path from languishing to flourishing is always available. Orientation can shift at any moment. But the longer evasion continues, the more habitual it becomes, and the more the body and mind organize around avoidance.
